Pyrolox Advantage is the newer and synthetic version of Pyrolox. The granular media has
received a 12.5% manganese dioxide coating. In the world of manganese dioxide filter media
it can be considered as a light-weight product. The manganese dioxide acts as a catalyst to
oxidize, precipitate and remove different contaminants: iron, manganese, hydrogen sulfide
and in some specific cases arsenic. The media works at is best when it is continuously
regenerated with chlorine, air, ozone or hydrogen peroxide.
