Greensand is the newer version of the classic manganese greensand and can be used as a perfect
alternative for manganese greensand but with a lot of advantages. The manganese dioxide coated
surface acts as an excellent catalyst. Greensand Plus is a black, nodular media that can be used for
the removal of soluble iron, manganese, hydrogen sulfide, but also in correctly defined cases for the
removal of arsenic and radium.
In most cases where iron removal and manganese are the main objectives a continuous
pretreatment with chlorine (or another strong oxidant) is advised. For the removal of arsenic and
radium special working conditions need to be respected and pilot plant testing is always necessary.
